Arnold Dick Eldridge

1 John 4:4 ESV Brethren, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Ewing, VA Arnold "Dick" Eldridge, age 63, of Ewing, VA passed away on Monday, January 9th 2023. Dick was born in Lee County Virginia, the son of the late Ira Eldridge and Ona (Jones) Eldridge. He was one of six children. In his youth, he developed a passion for hunting and fishing. This lifelong hobby would bring him and his family great times and memories together. He was a devoted father, grandfather, sibling, and friend. His compassionate nature was evident to all those around him. He never hesitated to help people in the community that needed him. Every week he and Diane would go to Becks house and make breakfast. During this family time, they continued to develop and nurture family ties. His grandchildren meant the world to him. "HE WAS THE BACKBONE OF THE FAMILY." He will be deeply missed by his loved ones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Eldridge, and two sisters, Kathlyn Eldridge, and Cindy Eldridge. Left to cherish his memories are the love of his life Diane Ayers of the home, his children, Becky Eldridge and husband Josh Brown, Sara Eldridge (Travis Johnson). Joshua Eldridge, Tina Carroll, his grandchildren; Dalton Eldridge ( Amerikah), Zak Eldridge, Chloe Eldridge and Clayton Moore, great grandchild Makailyn Eldridge, his two siblings, Bob Eldridge and wife Ella, and Nancy Collins, special friends, John and Barbara Surber, and Teresa Eldridge, many nieces nephews, close relatives and friends. The family of Dick Eldridge will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Praise and Worship Center in Rose Hill, VA. from 5-8 p.m. for the visitation. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. with Richard Long officiating, Special music will be provided by Bambi Lowe. His interment in the Eldridge Family Cemetery will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a procession at Holding Funeral Home in Rose Hill that will depart for the cemetery at 10:30a.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
