Barbara Ann Bolinsky Sturgill

Barbara Ann Bolinsky Sturgill, affectionately known as Barbara, was a beacon of warmth and generosity whose spirited nature touched the lives of many. Born on February 27, 1946, in Wise County, she brought light and love into this world 79 years before her peaceful passing on March 9, 2025, in Norton Community, due to a long-term health decline. Barbara's early years were spent in the nurturing arms of her parents, Charlie and Alice Lee Bolinsky, who preceded her in death, as did her beloved husband, Donald Sturgill, and her brothers, Frank, Wilbur, and Joe Bolinsky, and her sister, Wanda Porter. A proud alumna of Powell Valley High School, Barbara's education laid the groundwork for a life dedicated to service. Her career at Wise Regional Hospital spanned many years, when she retired after a fulfilling journey of helping and healing others. Her colleagues and patients remember her as a steadfast presence, always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand. Beyond her professional life, Barbara was a woman of many passions. She cherished the company of her family, with whom she shared countless memorable conversations and moments of joy. Her ability to find happiness in simple things set an example for all who knew her. An avid animal lover, Barbara's devotion to her pets was a reflection of her immense capacity for love and care. She is survived by siblings- Hugh Bolinsky and wife Carol, Pete and his wife Janie, and Eugene Bolinsky and his wife Carol. Barbara's legacy continues through her daughter, Elizabeth Dawn Miller, her son Richard Allen Mumpower Jr. and his wife Jackie, her adored grandchildren Kendra, Chase, Ashton, Kristan Macphail and her husband William, and Kayla Mumpower and her husband Colton Shytle, and her treasured great-grandchildren Lillian, Norah, Eleanore, Gavin, Breanna, Adeline, Sophie, Winnie, Luca, and Aliza as well as other close relatives and friends. Barbara's impact on the world was profound, and her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who were graced by her presence.
