Carl Edward Muncey II

Mr. Carl Edward Muncey II, affectionately known to many as "Boo," was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on August 31, 2025, after a sudden onset illness. Born on January 5, 1968, in Kingsport, Tennessee, the son of Mr. Carl Edward Muncey Sr. and Shirley Mae Pettey Muncey he was one of three children. Boo grew up in the Gate City , where he attended and graduated from Gate City High School. His education laid the foundation for his career as a talented cook, a vocation through which he served up not only quality food but also generous helpings of kindness to all who were fortunate to sit at his tables. His work in various restaurants around town allowed him to touch the lives of countless neighbors and friends, leaving them not just satisfied in stomach but also in spirit. A true man of faith, Boo dedicated himself to the Pentecostal Power House Church, where he found solace, strength, and community. His love for the Lord was as fervent as it was evident in every aspect of his life. Boo exemplified what it means to be faith-filled, living out his beliefs through generous acts of love and a commitment to the teachings of Christ. Boo's love extended to many interests that brought joy and excitement to his life. He was an avid football fan, reveling in the thrills of the game and the camaraderie it fostered. His dogs, too, were a source of great happiness, providing companionship and boundless affection. Boo was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Carl Edward Muncey Sr. and Shirley Mae Pettey Muncey. Left to cherish Boo's memory are his daughter, Candyce Hodges of Jonesborough, TN; his sister, Shannon Muncey of Gate City, VA; his niece, Talia Muncey and her fiancé, Ben; and his great-nephew, Tashawn Muncey, all of Gate City, VA. Boo also leaves behind a special friend, Terry Spears, His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Pentacostal Power House Church (288 White Pine Ln, Gate City Virginia) from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The funeral Service will be conducted following in the church's chapel with Pastor Dwayn Williams officiating. Special Music will be provided by the: Pentacostal Power House Church members. He will be laid to rest following in the Blair Family cemetery on (Ruritan Run Rd. ) Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
