Deborah Charlene "Debbie" Roberts

Clinton, IN. Jonesville, VA. - Deborah Charlene Roberts affectionately known as "Debbie," made her entrance into this world on Sunday, July 7th, 1957 in Jonesville, VA born to the late Albert "Ab" and Gladys Roberts. After a courageous battle with several illnesses, Debbie peacefully gained her wings on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 in Clinton, IN. Debbie was a beacon of light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering kindness, infectious smile, and a heart that was always ready to lend a helping hand. After graduating from Flatwoods High School in 1975 and ITT Evansville in 1978, she returned to her beloved Virginia. There, she began her career at Farmers & Miners Bank where she worked tirelessly until the late 1980s. Her passion for customer service led her to the Department of Motor Vehicles, where she dedicated the next decade of her life to helping others, always with a smile on her face. In the years that followed, Debbie's journey took her to Clinton, IN. where she continued to brighten the lives of those she encountered while working at Car Depot. Eventually, she returned home, ending her professional career at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare Systems. Upon her retirement, Debbie found fulfillment in caring for her mother, Gladys; a role that brought her great peace and a sense of purpose. In recent years, Debbie resided in Indiana, surrounded by the love and support of her surviving siblings: Barbara McMullen, Mary Jean Roberts, and Johnny Roberts. Her love and legacy continues through her one and only daughter, Carlene Baumgardner of Sevierville, TN who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Lovejoy and her favorite furbabies: Millee & Freece. Debbie's life was a testament of love, resilience, and the joy of serving others. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire those she left behind. May she rest in peace, her spirit soaring freely on the wings she so richly deserves. A Celebration of Life was held in Debbie's memory on August 7, 2024 at the home of her sister, Barbara McMullen in Clinton, IN. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 3PM in the Ingle Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA. Friends and family wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 3PM.
