Tazewell, TN - Earl Wayne Ayers Jr., affectionately known as Wayne to his loved ones, passed away surrounded by the warmth of family in Tazewell, TN, on March 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in the serene town of Ewing, VA, son of the Late Earl and Dorothy Ayers. Wayne was a cherished presence in the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark of love and kindness. Wayne is remembered as a beacon of light and a pillar of strength to his beloved wife of 28 years, Alesia Dean Ayers. Their union was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect, creating countless cherished memories. In addition to his wife, Wayne's legacy continues through his devoted sister, Diana (Ronnie) Smith; his supportive brothers, Terry (Lila) Ayers, Ray Ayers, and Johnny (Janet) Ayers; and his adoring nieces and nephews, Jamie (Logan) Brooks, Lacy (Travis) Day, Jessica Ayers, Vanessa (Andrew) Laws, Amy Kanefsky, Jordan Keck, and Michael Keck (Audreaona). Wayne's life was further enriched by the joy brought by his three very special great-nieces, Sadie Brooks, Bella Kanefsky, and Andree Keck, and his three very special great-nephews, Evan Kanefsky, Greyson Smith, and Niko Anthony Keck. His close bond with his sister-in-law, Sheila Keck (Steve), along with numerous other relatives and friends, formed a network of love and support that transcended the ordinary. Wayne's early years were marked by his education and spending time with his family, where he not only gained knowledge but also cultivated lifelong friendships. His professional life was characterized by dedication and hard work as he committed many years to manufacturing furniture, exemplifying a strong work ethic and unwavering reliability. Wayne's commitment to his vocation was paralleled only by his devotion to his faith as a follower of Jesus Christ, which guided him throughout his life and provided comfort and hope to those around him. Beyond his professional and spiritual endeavors, Wayne was a man of diverse interests and profound love for life. He never missed an opportunity to forge new connections, believing that every person he met was a potential friend. His compassionate nature led him to help others whenever he could, and his love for babies and children was unparalleled. Wayne's passion for old cars and motorcycles reflected his appreciation for the craftsmanship of bygone eras, while his love for travel with Alesia brought them on many adventures, creating unforgettable moments together. Music held a special place in Wayne's heart, as he found joy in singing and playing his guitar. His spirit soared through melodies, and his anticipation of heaven's wonders was a source of deep reflection and comfort. Now, as those who knew him imagine him in the celestial embrace, they find solace in the belief that he has found the answers to the mysteries he pondered. Wayne's life was characterized by his loving nature, his ability to fix and create with his hands, and his spirited approach to each day. His impact on those around him was profound, especially his relationship with his mother-in-law and sister- in- law. The words that best describe him—loving, handy, and spirited—will be carried forward by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. While the pain of loss is tangible, the memories of Wayne's generous spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering love will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Eupha Michelle Ayers, and his mother and father-in-law, Betty and Howard Dean. As we bid farewell to Earl Wayne Ayers Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart generously shared, and a soul now at peace. Wayne's light will continue to shine in the lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Praise and Worship Center in Rose Hill, VA. from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. for the visitation. ( 224 Wilders Peak Dr, Rose Hill, VA) The funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Praise and Worship Center following the visitation with Dennis Cook and Turtle Ramsey officiating. Special music will be provided by. Jimmy Barnes. Wayne's committal service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 in the Jones Family cemetery in Ewing, VA. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Praise and Worship center at10:30 to travel in procession to the cemetery. Weather permitting-Wayne's request is that all who have a classic car or motorcycle, please drive it on Saturday in his honor in the procession.
