Jack "Pappy" Dale Hollandsworth Sr.- Ewing, Virginia Jack "Pappy" Dale Hollandsworth Sr.., age 85, entered into his heavenly rest on November 11, 2025, at Claiborne Medical Center in Tazewell, Tennessee. Jack was born on March 16, 1940, in Pocahontas County, West Virginia. He was the son of Dale and Ruth (Atkins) Hollandsworth and one of three children. Jack was a true southern gentleman, being from West Virginia, his life was a testament to the mountains that reared him. The lessons he learned in his youth transcended his life. His love for God's Creation, his people, his animals and his faith. Spending time with his father plowing their fields, created a lifelong love for horses, He would often recall fondly his "Plowing Days" . He loved his family deeply, teasing them, telling jokes, and giving everyone a "Nickname" these traits made each one of his family and friends feel extra special. His life and love were his Sermon; he lived his life in such a manner that we have no doubt where he is. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Phyllis Spade Hollandsworth; his parents, Dale and Ruth Hollandsworth; daughter Robin West; son “Boo” Hollandsworth; granddaughter Shayera Hollandsworth; sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Bill Copeland; brother- and sister-in-law L.T. and Mary Francis Lewis; and several beloved in-laws: Charlie and Pauline Spade, Joe and Ruth Myles, Ray Jr. and Norma Spade, Carol Spade, and his parents-in-law Ray Sr. and Hazel Spade. Left to cherish his memory are his son Jack Hollandsworth Jr. (Regina); daughter Sheila Mitchell (Jimmy); daughter-in-law Jacque Hollandsworth; grandsons Joseph (Priscilla) West, Adam Hollandsworth, and Braxton Hollandsworth; granddaughters Whitley (Adam) Yeary, Emily (Justin) Hollandsworth, and Bristol Hollandsworth; great-grandson Tennessee West; and great-granddaughters Paris West, Carlyn, and Avie Kate Yeary. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Normie and Richard Morgan; brother-in-law Tommy & Bruce Spade; special friends and travel partners, Tim and Michelle Mitchell, his pastor Jeff Seals (Tammy) and family; lifelong neighbors, Buddy and Mary Zumbrum, along with many other close relatives and friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Donna Yeary, Barb Carmony, and Dr. Adam Yeary for their exceptional care and kindness shown to Jack. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, November 15, 2025, at the Mt. View Independent Baptist Church, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted following in the church's sanctuary with pastors Jeff Seals and Claude West officiating., special music will be provided by Jimmy Barnes. His committal service will take place on Monday, at 11:00 a.m. where he will be laid to rest in the Hollandsworth Family Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to Meet at Holding Funeral Home of Rose Hill at 10:30 a.m. for the funeral procession which will be conducted with Horse Drawn Carriage. Pallbearers will be: Jack Hollandsworth Jr., Adam Hollandsworth, Braxton Hollandsworth, Joseph and Tennessee West, Jimmy Mitchell, Tim Mitchell, Dr. Adam Yeary, and Justin Pittman.
