Rhonda Kelly- Keokee, VA Rhonda Kelly, a cherished and vibrant soul, passed away unexpectedly on December 8, 2023, at her home in Keokee, VA. Rhonda was born in Norton, VA, Rhonda was a beacon of joy and laughter to all who knew her. Her sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of many, but her spirit continues to shine brightly in the memories she leaves behind. A proud graduate of Keokee High School's class of 1989, Rhonda was a lifelong learner who carried her passion for knowledge to Mountain Empire Community College, where she earned a degree in Information Systems Technology. Rhonda spent many years as a shift leader and a respected floor supervisor at Tempur Pedic, where her colleagues admired her work ethic and her infectious spirit until the day of her well-deserved retirement. Rhonda's love for her community was evident through her active membership at the Keokee Church of God. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Beyond the church walls, Rhonda found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as exploring new restaurants and savoring the diverse flavors each had to offer. Her adventurous palate was just one aspect of her spirited personality. To know Rhonda was to know laughter; she had an unparalleled ability to light up a room with her humor. She loved to make people laugh and had the rare gift of never meeting a stranger. She is preceded in death by her dear parents, Troy and Jenell Wells Kelly, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, with her family: Matthew Owens of the home, and her siblings: Joyce Sluss, Mary Owens, Terry Kelly, and Ronnie Kelly his wife Melinda. Her nieces Melissa Brummette and husband John, Wendy Ray, Dawn Owens, and her cousin Hazel Gibsonhusband Jeff, are just a few of the many family members who will hold Rhonda's memory close to their hearts. Along with these dear relatives, numerous friends will continue to treasure the time they spent with Rhonda. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, for the visitation. The funeral service will be conducted following in the funeral homes chapel with Pastor Bill McDonald officiating. The committal service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Powell Valley Cemetery Dryden, VA their will be a funeral procession that will depart for the cemetery at 10:30 to go in procession. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
