Sandra Gail Neal Givens

Rose Hill, VA- Sandra Gail Neal Givens, known affectionately by all as Sally passed away on March 9, 2025, after a long-term health decline, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY. Born on March 1, 1951, in Rose Hill, VA, she was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched many lives. Sandra was a proud graduate of Flatwoods High School, class of 1969. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to a computer training school in Bristol, TN, where she honed the skills that would serve her throughout her professional life. Sandra's work ethic and dedication were evident during her 17-year tenure at Norris Industries in Duffield, VA, where she worked until the company's closure. She also spent time working at a sewing factory in Ewing, Virginia, showcasing her versatility and resilience in the face of change. Sandra's love for animals was a defining aspect of her life. She raised goats with the utmost care, bestowing upon each a name and a place in her heart. Her passion for felines was just as strong; she lovingly cared for her own cats and extended her kindness to the community cats at the dumpster in Rose Hill, ensuring they were fed daily. Sandra's love for her animals was a reflection of her generous and nurturing spirit. Predeceased by her father, Elbert Sterling Neal, her mother, Georgia Mae Wolfe Neal, and her brothers, Gary Lewis (Noodler) Neal and Bruce Wayne (Beau) Neal Surviving family members. Her brother Roger Dale Neal and his wife Cindy, along with their stepson Seth Delaney of Tazewell, TN, her sister Patsy Marie Neal of Suffolk, VA, and her nephews Andrew Neal and his wife Vanessa of Hillsboro, NC, and Jacob Neal of Durham, NC, will hold Sandra's spirit close to their hearts forever. Sandra's life was also enriched by the enduring friendships she cultivated, including her close bonds with Alan Harlow of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Doug Harbor of Rose Hill, Virginia. These friends, along with many others, will fondly remember Sandra for the joy and friendship she brought into their lives. Sandra's absence will be deeply felt, but the memories she created with those she loved will serve as a beacon of light in the lives of her family and friends.
