Arnold L. Sizemore

Big Stone Gap, Virginia Arnold L. Sizemore, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday (March 12, 2015) at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. Arnold worked for the Town of Big Stone Gap, He worked at Glencoe Cemetery where he was in charge of all the interments until he retired 1993. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, having served in the Korean War. He was born in Stonega, Virginia and lived his whole life in Wise County Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esley and Anna Mae Eads. He is survived by his three sisters, Phyllis J. Gilley of Big Stone Gap, Margaret J. Burton of Morristown TN, and Shirley A. Watts of Big Stone Gap; and other close relatives and friends. The family will receive friends for the visitation on Sunday (March 15) from 12 noon until 2p.m. at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St. N.) Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will be conducted following the visitation in the funeral home’s chapel with Pastor Tony Palubicki officiating. Military Rites, honorably administered by the local V.F.W. and D.A.V. posts and the Virginia National Honor’s Guard, will be following the funeral in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jaime Watts, Brandon Watts, Tony Crossland, Rusty Gilly, Robin Gilly, Jeremy Gilly.
