"I loved life and I lived it!"-Glen Big Stone Gap, VA Glen C. Kindle, Jr., 68, passed away on Friday (March 8, 2013) at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He was born in Roda, VA, lived in Richmond, VA for over nine years, and lived most of his life in Appalachia and Big Stone Gap, VA. He worked for DuPont in Richmond and was a coal miner with the Westmoreland Coal Co. at the Paramount Mine. He was a member of the U. M. W. A. District #20, Local #7276. He was of Baptist faith. Glen enjoyed and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen C. and Ruby (Whitt) Kindle, Sr. Glen is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patty (Sneed) Kindle; his son, Steven W. Kindle of Big Stone Gap; his daughter, Pamela Barker and fiancé, Patrick Davidson of Ripley, WV; three grandchildren, Logan Barker, Payton Barker and Stevie Kindle; one sister, Lynda Carpenter and husband, R. C. of Big Stone Gap; and one nephew and two nieces. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Melvin Eads officiating. Final arrangements are private.
