Big Stone Gap, Virginia James Henry Norris on Monday October 22, 2018 his soul took flight to his eternal home in glory at the tender age of 83. James Henry Norris was born on April 21, 1935 in Osaka, Virginia; son to the late Paul and Willie Mae Norris. He settled in the coal mining area of Stonega, VA and Big Stone Gap, VA, where he gave his life to Christ at a young age, he then began to serve him. During his lifelong commitment to Christ he learned that God had given him the greatest gift of love, patience, kindness, and long suffering. He was a faithful servant in caring for his family members until, his life on earth ended. He leaves to cherish his memory, his three sisters; Minister and Deacon Eva (Carlton) English of Ft. Washington MD, Barbara Watlains of Savanah Georgia, Patricia (Arerus) Jones of Richland Washington, four brothers Charles Norris of Big Stone Gap, VA, Samuel (Lela) Norris of Detroit Michigan, Eddie (Cynthia) Norris of Detroit Michigan, Freddie (Tarciana) Norris of Upper Marlboro, MD, and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews , great nephews, cousins and friends. A special friend Ms. Hettie M. McCoo. The family will receive friends for Mr. Norris homegoing celebration on Sat. (Oct 27, 2018) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will be conducted following with the Rev. Parker officiating. Special Music will be provided by Donna and Major Griffey. The committal service will be held following in the Oakview cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
