Jimmy Ray Swecker – Church Hill, TN Jimmy Ray Swecker, 71, Church Hill, TN passed away, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Indian Path Medical Center. Jimmy was born on September 22, 1948 in Montgomery County, Maryland to the late John Glen and Maggie Fannie (Russell) Swecker. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. and was retired from Asplundh Tree. In addition to his parents, his son, Jimmy Swecker, II and daughter-in-law, Tysha preceded him in death. Surviving is his loving wife of almost 50 years, Wanda Fay Swecker, Church Hill, TN; children, Pauline Gross and husband, Ralph (Rooster), Bulls Gap, TN, Linda Hill and husband, Daniel, Church Hill, TN, Bonnie Duvall and husband, Robert, Gate City, VA, and Kenneth Bloomer and friend, Tiffany Lawson, Blackwater, VA; grandchildren, Maggie, Rachael, Cynthia, Dylan, Dakota, Candy, Kayla, Johnnie, Justin, Bo, and Maryann, Robbie, and Eli; great grandchildren, Alicia, Emma, Alexis, Micah, Ethan, Katiana, Bentlee, Jayce, Gracely, Haley, and Ryver; brother, Johnny Swecker and wife, Tweet, Damascus, MD; sisters, Tiny Teran, Hagerstown, MD and Charlotte Gates, MD; special friends, Oscar Boozer, Mike Vance, Franklin Dobbs, and Billy Joe Wolfe; special nephew, Jay (Spanky) Swecker and wife, Angela, Kingsport, TN; along with several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2019 at Holding Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Holding Funeral Home with Rev. James Adams officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Duffield Cemetery by the V.F.W. Honor Guard. Dobbs, Johnnie, Justin, Rooster, Oscar, Spanky, and Brandon will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
