Lawrencie E. Wells Poole

Big Stone Gap, VA Lawrencie E. Wells Poole, 95, of Powell Valley, went to her heavenly home on Saturday (December 28, 2013) at home. She was a lifelong resident of Powell Valley. She was a member of Legion Memorial Methodist Church in Powell Valley, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Oscar F. Poole; her parents, Lawrence and Eula (Duncan) Wells; three brothers, Glenn Wells, Eugene Wells and E. Ray Wells; and four sisters, Yvonne Brickey, Doris Giles, Jerri Miller and June Wells. Surviving are her two daughters, Nema Miller and husband, Wade, Jr., and Geanne Masters and husband, Dale, all of Big Stone Gap; two grandchildren, Tim Miller and wife, Jo Ann of Knoxville, TN, and Marla Bolling and husband, Kenny of Pound, VA; four great-grandchildren, Amber Davis and husband, Shawn of Knoxville, TN, Justin Miller of Knoxville, TN, Jaret Bolling and wife, Nicole of Big Stone Gap and Erik Bolling and wife, Katie of Chapel Hill, NC; one sister, Ruth Kallas of Noblesville, IN; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Dana Morton. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday (Dec. 30, 2013) at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ric Wright officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2013) at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. The family and friends will meet at Holding Funeral Home by 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
