Letha Mae Stacy, 72, of Big Stone Gap, passed away on Wednesday (June 17, 2015) at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She was born in Claiborne Tn. and lived most of her life in Big Stone Gap and Duffield Virginia. She was a loving mother and grandmother. The highlight of her life was the day her grandson Anthony was born. She also enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers and feeding the birds. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Hicks and Estella Barton Penley; two sisters Barbara White and Pearlie “Goldie” Greene. . She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Droppleman of Richmond Virginia and Sandra Bailey and husband, Alan of Kingsport Tennessee; two grandsons Anthony Droppleman and Joshua Bailey; two sisters, Betty Barker and husband Harold, of Big Stone Gap and Regina Fay Gardner and husband Randy Taylor, of Appalachia, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday (June 19) from 5:30pm until 7:00pm for the visitation at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, Va. The funeral service will be conducted following the visitation in the funeral home’s chapel with the pastor Jimmy Qualls officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap. The family will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 for the committal service.
