Lucile Dixon Allman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Allman, Lucile, 92, of Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away on Saturday (November 12, 2011) at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap, VA. Mrs. Allman had lived most of her life in Big Stone Gap, VA. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Hunnicutt Sunday School Class and had served as chairperson of Circle 7 United Methodist Women. She owned and operated Allman's Men Shop for many years. She was an auxiliary volunteer at Lonesome Pine Hospital with over 20,000 hours of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Allman and her youngest son, Robert "Bobby" Allman; an infant daughter, Margaret Eloise Allman; her parents, William and Louisa Dixon; three brothers, Johnny, Gene and Lee Dixon; six sisters, Willie May Gallaway, Nellie Barney, Elizabeth Snyder, Pauline Tate, Mamie Roberson and Winifred Whitt. She is survived by two sons, Edmond Allman, Jr. and wife, Marietta of Stafford, VA and Ruben Allman and wife, Nancy of Big Stone Gap; daughter-in-law, Sue Allman of Jonesborough, TN; grandsons, Christopher Allman and Shannon Allman; granddaughter, Lora and husband, Darren Lay and their children, Eddie, Violet and Nancy; granddaughter, Ramona and husband, Charles Knudsen and their sons, Charles and Chris; and a special caregiver, Mary Middleton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Ken LaDuke and the Rev. Ronnie Mutter officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap.
