Big Stone Gap, Virginia O.B. McMahan Jr. 82, passed from this life on Monday (August 11, 2014) at Heritage Hall Health care in Big Stone Gap. He spent most of his life living in the Powell Valley Community of Big Stone Gap, he was known affectionately by most everyone as Jr. or Mac McMahan. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church of God in Jesus Name. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley A Sampson McMahan of 55 years. He is survived by his daughter and son- in- law; Debra and Jimmy Pitts, son; Richard McMahan, fiance Jannifer Sliger, Daughter; and son-in-law, Linda and Dewey Dickenson, one grandson; Jimmy Pitts Jr, three granddaughters; Casey McMahan Smith, husband Nate, Michele Dickenson, fiancé Todd Thompson, and Jessie Dickenson Martin, husband Jimmy, one great grandson Luke Martin, two great granddaughters Charity Smith and Lucy Martin; a very special friend, Gary Bolling of Heritage Hall , several other close relatives and friends. The family will receive Wednesday from 3 until 4p.m for the visitation at Holding Funeral Home. (17 E. 3rd St. N) Big Stone Gap. The graveside service will be conducted; following the visitation, in the American Legion Cemetery, officiated by Brother; Dewey Dickenson.
