Ellenton, FL Pat Morris passed away April 26, 2016 in Bradenton, FL. Pat had a good and long life of 92 years. He was a generous, kind and sharing "gentleman." Pat served his country as a gliderman in World War II, attended the Army Specialist Training Program at University of Maine, was in the Battle of the Bulge, and received the Bronze Star for "heroic and meritorious actions" for retrieving the wounded from the battlefield. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Morris; siblings, Bill Morris, and Annis (Bill) Burke; and parents, Patton and June Morris. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth Morris, who he "loved more that anything else in the world." He is also survived by brother, Charlie (Sheila) Morris; sisters, Connie (John) Slagle and Sandy (Ray) Dorton; also sisters-in-law, Gay Lynch, Clarice Stewart, Marguerite Bolden, Mary Ellen (Bill) Outen, John (Ann) Matz; brother-in-law, Jerry Decker; and lots o loving, caring nieces and nephews. A memorial graveside service will be held 11am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, VA with Dr. Lonnie Brooks and Rev. Bobby Hamilton officiating.
