EAST STONE GAP, VIRGINIA Paul J. Dye 88, passed away peacefully on Monday (March 30 2015) at his residence in East Stone Gap. Paul retired from United Central Supply, also Summers Hardware, he worked for Wal-Mart for over 17 years. He was a member of the East Stone Gap United Methodist Church, he also attended Derby United Methodist church. He was a member of the Masons. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was married to his lovely wife Ann. B. Dye until she passed in July 9, 2012. He was a precious man and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by; his wife Anne B. Dye, his daughter; Kim J. Lane, his brothers; Earl Dye Kenneth Dye, Denver Dye, his sister; Bonnie Davidson, his niece; Vicky Berry, his in laws; Ruth Berry, Jean Berry, Pat Woodword, John Bill Berry. He is survived by his sister; Joy Dalton husband Gerald of KY, one uncle; Creed Dye wife Fay of TN, son in law Jerry Lane, Grandsons; Stephen Jessee fiancé Melissa Barnett, Chris Lane; four great-granchildren; Kace and Skye Barnett, Caleb and Ameila Lane, Nieces; Linda DeBolt, Tracey Vellidis, Betsy Dalton, Shelvia Barnette, Geneva Jernigan, Cathy DeBolt, Lori Fraley, Laura Vellidis, Nicki Vellidis, Catey Lawson, Sarah Fraley, Julie Jernigan, Kelli Fraley, nephews; Rick DeBolt, Johnny Berry, (Michael Kelly) Donnie Berry, Dan Jernigan, George Vellidis, Rickey G. Mathis; Brother in-law Bob Woodward other close relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday (April 1st) from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. for the visitation at the East Stone Gap United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday (April 2nd) at 12 noon at the East Stone Gap United Methodist Church. With the Pastor’s Ronnie Mutter and David Rose officiating. The committal service will be held following the funeral service in the Riverview Cemetery in East Stone Gap, Virginia. Military graveside honors will be administered by the honorably local D.A.V. and V.F.W. post. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the East Stone Gap United Methodist Church or to the Derby United Methodist Church.
