Big Stone Gap, Virginia Robert C. King “Bobby” 85, passed away peacefully on (April 1st 2015) at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville with his granddaughter Celeste by his side. Bobby enjoyed the outdoors; he had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed pranking everyone. He enjoyed his card playing friends. He worked for the Westmoreland Coal Company for 14 years, and Webers bakery for 30 years. He enjoyed baking for his friends and neighbors; his specialty was “Rum Cakes”. He was a loving, caring, father. He was married to his lovely wife Rubye King for 66 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Velma “Luntsford” King; his son, Robbie King who passed in 1997, and his daughter; Sherry King who passed in 2005. He is survived by; Wife-Rubye King of the home, Daughter Connie Cabasa and husband Gene of CA, five grandchildren; Celeste Morrison and husband John of CA, Jason Tullius and wife Kat of CA, Yolanda King of CA, Greg King of CA, Nathan King; several other great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other close relatives. In honoring his wishes he will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Friday (April 10) at his home 1208 First Ave East Big Stone Gap, from 4p.m. until 6.pm. A private memorial service will take place with the Rev. Ronnie Mutter Officiating.
