Mr. Roy Lee Lyons

Big Stone Gap, Va. Roy Lee Lyons, 68, entered his eternal home on Saturday (June 6, 2015) at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn, following a brief illness. Roy was disabled all of his life. He loved nature, gardening, and the simple things in life. He was of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Goldie (Smith) Lyons; and two brothers, Jackie D. and Robert C. Lyons. Surviving are two sisters, Geraldine Lyons Chester and husband, Bill of East Stone Gap, Va., and Patricia Lyons Mullins of Big Stone Gap; two brothers, Ronnie Ray Lyons (Kathy Umbarger) of Big Stone Gap, and Tommie Junior Lyons of Portage, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Evangelist Buddy Wilson officiating. Burial will be private at Riverview Cemetery in East Stone Gap, Va..
