Sharleen Carter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ewing, VA Sharleen Carter, 76, of Ewing, VA went to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 10, 2022, peacefully at her home. Sharleen was born in Lee County Virginia, July 5, 1946, to the late Ike and Ruby Daniels. She loved to sew and play Bible Jeopardy. She loved to spend time with her family and her babies. Along with her parents, Sharleen is preceded in death by her infant son, Joe Franklin Ayers; her first husband, Franklin Ayers; grandson, Devin Wayne Ayers; great-granddaughter, Raelynn Elizabeth Maples; four brothers and two sisters. Sharleen is survived by her husband, James Carter; daughters, Angela Lea Parker of New Tazewell, TN, and Tracy Geneva Taylor of Ewing, VA; grandchildren, Michael Parker, Kayla Brooks, Sharleen Maples, Melissa Baumgardner and Ryan Ayers; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Christine McGeorge, Dottie Burns, Bertie Bussell, and Barbara Hatfield; a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 13th, 2022, at Holding Funeral Home of Rose Hill, VA, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Jeremiah Day officiating. The burial will be held on Thursday, July 14th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Red Hill Cemetery at Harrogate, TN. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
