Supcoe, Susanna Helen (Marcus), age 101, of Melbourne, FL and formerly of Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away early Friday morning, October 14, 2011, at Melbourne Terrace Rehabilitation Center, Melbourne, Florida. She was born in Stonega, Virginia, September 17, 1910, to Michael Marcus, Jr. and Julia Anne (Viszkelti) Marcus. Her paternal grandparents were Michael Marcus, Sr. and Julia (Berker) Marcus. Helen completed her education at Berea College Academy, Berea, KY, in 1929, and worked as a nurse in hospitals in Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky. Helen and her husband George later owned and operated Utilities Trading Company, Robinson Creek, KY, for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Big Stone Gap, VA. Loved ones who predeceased her were husband: George Lawrence Supcoe, Sr.; sisters: Julia (James) Nemeth; Ann (Al) Cutler; Rose (Chester) Halcomb; brothers: Michael (Elizabeth) Marcus; Joseph (Alice) Marcus and John Marcus. Surviving her are: Son: George Lawrence Supcoe, Jr. (Iris) of Clayton, NC; Daughter: Marcus Dana (Supcoe) Gravel (Fred) of Indian Harbour Beach, FL; Grandchildren: Trevor Frederick Markus Gravel, FL; Lawrence Allen Supcoe (Pam), TN; Caitlyn Marcus Supcoe, PA; Olivia Lynn Supcoe, NC; Great Grandchildren: Kandis Marie Supcoe, TN; Chance Allen Supcoe, TN; Great Great Grandson: Chance Tyler Supcoe, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews in KY, VA, MI The family will receive friends and family on Thursday (October 20, 2011) from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1821 Holton Avenue, E.) in Big Stone Gap at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (October 20th 2011). Interment will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens following the funeral.
