Mrs. Uldeen Carter Stidham Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

East Stone Gap, Va. Uldeen Carter Stidham, 89, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Va. She was a life-long resident of East Stone Gap. She was a homemaker, who was a devoted wife and mother, raising her three children. She loved to garden, had a deep faith in God, and was a born again Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Stidham, Jr.; her parents, App and Darthula (Miller) Carter; and two brothers, G. C. Carter and Ernest Carter. Surviving are her two sons, Danny (Pam) Stidham of Big Stone Gap, and Gary (Denise) Stidham of Marion, NC; one daughter, Judy (Gary) Standifer of Big Stone Gap; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; brother, Wiley (Mary Ann) Carter of Marion, NC; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Ray Holcomb officiating. Committal graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Sunday at Riverview Cemetery in East Stone Gap. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. on Sunday to go in procession. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
