Mr. David Lee Fox Sr.

East Stone Gap, Virginia David Lee Fox Sr. 67 passed away peacefully on (Tuesday April 28, 2015) at Norton Community Hospital. David was born in Oakridge Tennessee on January 27, 1948 he was the son of the late, Leon and Ruby (Anderson) Fox. He joined the Army right out of High School where he served his country honorably in the Vietnam War stationed in Korea. Once he was honorably discharged from the Army he moved back to Southwest Virginia, where he would spend the rest of his working career, driving trucks in and around Wise County Virginia. He retired from V.D.O.T. with 22 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Timothy Lee Fox, and Larry Douglas Fox and sister Rose Marie Fox. He is survived by his loving wife Polly Fox of the home, children Timothy Willis and fiancé Terresa of New York, Tanya Clemo and husband Scott of North Carolina, Tammy McMahan of Appalachia fiancé Carlos “Buck” Milbro of Appalachia, Melissa Leornard and husband Chris of Big Stone Gap, David Lee Fox Jr and fiancé Ashley Bartee of Appalachia, 11 grandchildren Jessica Joyner and husband Kenneth, Timothy McMahan, Shae Fox, Shenna Fox, Laken Leornard, Lucas Litton, Brittany, Rivera, Jamie Willis, Isabel Didame, Kimberly Clemo, Mia Clemo, 5 great grandchildren; Bryson, Brantley, Zayden Joyner, Samuel McMahan, Elena Rivera; Brothers; Bobby Fox and wife Shirley, Jack Fox and wife Betty, Joe Fox and wife Rita, Danny Fox and wife Nancy, sisters; Carolyn Hall and husband Graham, Peggy Lance, Mary Nixon and husband Phil, Becky Smith and husband Lewis, Kathy Fox,;heartfelt son Allen McMahan and heartfelt daughter Tracy Sturgill a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday (May 2) from 5pm until 8pm for the visitation at Holding Funeral Home of Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will be conducted at 8pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Ray Holcomb officiating. The committal service will be conducted on Sunday (May 3) at 2 p.m. in the American Legion Cemetery with the Local D.A.V. and V.F. W. full military rites. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m. to go in procession. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
