In Loving Memory of Naomi Ruth Neeley Fields Naomi Ruth Neeley Fields, age 77, of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who will forever cherish her. Naomi was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord and found comfort in her relationship with Him. Her faith carried her through the joys and hardships of life, and she often reminded those around her of the importance of prayer, love, and trusting in God. Her greatest hope was knowing that one day she would be reunited with those she loved in Heaven. Naomi was a devoted mother who found her greatest joy in her family. She is survived by her daughters, Julie Ann Fields (Kenneth Brandon Roberts) and Katherine Shiann Fleming (John-Thomas Shelton Fleming). She was a loving great-grandmother to Paislee Shelton Fleming, Waylon James Fleming, and Fallon Kathleen Fleming, who brought a special kind of joy and love into her life. The memories they made with their Grannie will be treasured in their hearts forever. Naomi was also blessed with a special niece, Rebecca Ruth Atchley, and a dear special friend, Evelyn Ann Jones, who held a cherished place in her heart and life. Naomi was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “Jimmy” Elmer Fields; her parents, Reba Catherine Scott Neeley and George Wesley Neeley; and her siblings, Anna Lee White and Mary Ellington Vanstavern. Those who knew Naomi will remember her for her kind heart, strong faith, and the love she gave so freely. She had a way of making those around her feel loved and cared for. Her faith, love, and example will continue to live on through the family she cherished so dearly. Though she is no longer with us, we find comfort in knowing that Naomi is at peace and has gone home to be with the Lord, where she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Jimmy. We can imagine the joy of their reunion and find comfort knowing they are together again. Her love, laughter, prayers, and memories will remain forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered as a cherished mother, Grannie, aunt, and friend. Until we meet again in Heaven, Mamaw. The family will recieve friends on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026 for a graveside service at Glencoe Cemetery, the service will be officiated by Jay Parrigan. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Holding Funeral Home at 10:50 to travel in procession to the cemetery. She will be carried to rest by the Riebe and Son Carriage.
