Raven Jennene Carroll

In loving memory Raven Jennene Carroll, born August 1, 1976, was such a loving, caring soul born and raised in Appalachia, VA. She touched the lives of everyone she met. It didn’t matter if it was the first time she’d ever seen you, or the 100th. She made sure to tell every person that she loved them and nobody was a stranger to her. She made sure that they felt her love from the very first moment they met! She had many hobbies and loved to color, draw, and play the guitar. She also loved anything outdoors, from shooting guns, riding four wheelers, and she could out fish the best of them! Her family was the most important thing to her. She loved her boys and her grandbabies, especially her boo boo (Brantley), they were the best of friends! They would sit and talk about life, and look at the stars, and look for “UFOs”. She loved all kids and would play with them for hours and every one of them called her Nanny, but most of all she loved her Jesus. You didn’t have a conversation with Raven without her bringing up God. She would always say that “she was born to serve the Lord” and that “she’s always felt out of place here and she is supposed to be with him” and that’s exactly where she made it to, into the arms of her savior. She is preceded in death by her father, Dennis Allen Carroll SR; mother, Selma R Horton; and granddaughter, Kaydence Ann Carroll. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Blake Carroll (wife Kayla), and Tyler Carroll; grandsons, Brantley and Noah Carroll; her loving siblings, Dennis Allen Carroll JR (wife Bobbi), Pamela Denise Maggard (husband Ernie), and Clifton Wade Carroll (wife Amanda); and her fiancé, David Eugene Aistrop; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family. Funeral arrangements will be held at Thee Church in Appalachia, VA, Thursday April 30, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with services following with Pastor Willie Barker officiating. Graveside services will be Friday May 1, 2026, at 11:00am in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Pallbearers will be Blake Carroll, Denny Carroll, Ernie Maggard, Tim Phillips, and David Gillenwater.
