2 CORINTHIANS 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. Rose Hill, VA- Robert J. Yeary, age 80, passed from this life into his eternal life on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Robert was born and raised in Rose Hill, VA. He was the son of the late Glenn Yeary & Mrs. Laura "Warf" Yeary. He was one of seven children. He attended Thomas Walker High School where he graduated class of 1960. During his younger days, he was a very gifted runner. It was said he was the "fastest runner around". After his graduation, he soon developed a passion for farming. He was known as a "true cattleman". He devoted his life to farming. He developed many of his friendships that continue to this day at the cattle markets where he and his friends would gather to swap tales and wheel and deal with one another. Robert's humor was contagious. His sayings were unique. He had the type of personality that would make your time in his presence enjoyable. His family remembers his quick wit and comedic sayings with fondness. He always wanted everyone around him to have a good time. His knowledge, wisdom, and life sayings will live on in his family for generations. He is deeply missed by his family. Old tractors made him happy. He had an ol' John Deer 'Popp'n Run' tractor that he was very fond of. To honor Robert, the funeral procession will be led to his final resting place with his tractor. This special tribute to a life well lived will be carried out by Aaron Bailey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Steven Yeary and a brother Harold Yeary. Left to cherish his memory; His loving wife of 22 years Carla Sue Yeary, his daughters, Sydney Carlene Yeary of the home, daughter Whitley Yeary and husband Dr. Adam Yeary, of Rose Hill, VA., his son Shawn Yeary and wife April of Lexington, KY., his grandchildren; Carlyn L. Yeary, Parker Yeary, & Maddie Yeary, his siblings; Gladys Marcum of Rose Hill, Thelma Johnston of Troutman, N.C., Tyler Yeary of Rose Hill, VA., Susan Pack and husband Larry of Knoxville, TN., & Lillie "Lil" Klempner of Nicholasville, KY., his in laws whom he shared a special bond with, Carl and Alma Monday, a host of other nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends. The family of Robert Yeary will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan 10, 2023, at the Praise and Worship Center in Rose Hill, VA., from 5-8 p.m. for the visitation. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. with pastors Norman Clark & Layton Bentley officiating. Special music will be provided by Zach WIles and Joyce Williams. His interment in Lee Memorial Gardens Mausoleum will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. There will be a procession at Holding Funeral Home in Rose Hill that will depart for the cemetery at 12:30p.m. The pallbearers will be Adam Yeary, Larry Dooley, Jason Woodard, Aaron Bailey, Parker Yeary, Bobby Ellis, Bill Surber, & Tom Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Thompson, Carl Monday, and Joe White.
